Pian di Reggi
The farm Pian dei Reggi is located in the heart of Tuscany, 500 meters above sea level, in a large wooded area of Casentino. Rita, the owner, and her family are passionately dedicated to the cultivation of vegetables and fruit plants, giving priority to native and ancient varieties, practicing organic, in fact they are certified ICEA since 1994. For the fertility of the soil, the agronomic technique of green manure and crop rotation is practiced. The seeds come from other farms that are strictly organic or self-produced. Fertilization does not occur through chemicals, soils are covered with macerated nettle (useful for the formation of nitrogen), self-produced ash (to increase potassium) and composting. Fruits and vegetables are harvested when ripe according to the season, only by manual methods and transformed in the laboratory a few meters from the field, so soups, velvety, jams, the pickles, oils, maintain all the good flavor and nutritional quality of raw materials.
