‘Nduja is a spicy soft salami with red hot chilli pepper. it’s a typical product of the region of Calabria, but in the past few decades it has also gained in popularity in the rest of Italy and abroad, too. This spicy salami was originally produced in Spilinga, in the province of Vibo Valentia, which is still known today as the city of ‘Nduja. Its citizens were able to pass the original incredible flavour of this cold cut through generations and have become real experts in manufacturing and marketing it. The ‘Nduja from Spilinga is an excellent product, still handmade, with unique flavour and fragrance.

And right in Spilinga, the home of ‘Nduja salami, Luigi Caccamo decided to embark on a project which would lead to the launch of his company, L’Artigiano della ‘Nduja - the ‘Nduja craftsman, in 2004. This family company produces this exquisite cold cut according to well-defined values, such as absolute quality, environmental protection, optimisation of raw materials and manufacture of genuine products. The company’s ultimate goal is to maintain the great reputation of the ‘Nduja from Spilinga and offer the best possible quality.

This spicy salami is made with pork fatback, jowl and belly. It is then salted and L’Artigiano della ‘Nduja adds some naturally dried red hot chilli pepper grown in the mount Poro. It is a special chilli which is not treated with any kind of chemical substances, since the constant humidity of the territory allows it to grow naturally. Thanks to these excellent ingredients, L’Artigiano della ‘Nduja is able to create genuine and delicious products. he also likes to combine the spicy flavour of the ‘Nduja with other food, such as olives, tuna or vegetable, in order to create new surprising combinations.
