The Mostarda from Cremona is made according to tradition with candied fruits, which are either left whole or cut into big pieces. The company Leccornie Doc has reinterpreted this great classic recipe in a modern way. The flavour of the syrup is slightly spicy due to the presence of mustard essential oil, and is perfectly balanced by the sweet and fresh candied fruits.
The classic mixed fruit Mostarda pairs well with mixed boiled meat and cow’s milk and goat milk cheeses, either fresh or aged.
A handmade Mostarda is made from high-quality ingredients; it is made by hand at a slow pace, as the original recipe dictates. Mixed fruits - pears, apricots, figs, cherries, clementines and citron in varying proportions - are candied in the Leccornie Doc’s workshop.
Leccornie Doc and its Mostarda from Cremona brought a breath of fresh air to this great Lombardy specialty.
