Furrowed Tubetti from Gragnano PGI, bronze-drawn - 500g Pastificio dei Campi
Finally, a pasta shape which is also suitable for little kids learning how to use a fork! Furrowed tubetti from Gragnano PGI are a small and very versatile pasta shape that goes well with many sauces. It is also the perfect shape for soups, such as bean or chickpea pasta soup. These tubetti with ridges are manufactured by a company called “Pastificio dei Campi”. It is located in Gragnano where pasta has been produced since the 16th century, as confirmed by the protected geographical indication (PGI) certification which Gragnano obtained in 2013.
“Pastificio dei Campi” uses only durum-wheat semolina, grown in its own fields in Apulia, to produce exceptional pasta in countless variations. Shapes are created by extruding pasta through bronze dies: this artisan technique leaves a rough pasta surface which best holds onto sauces. This company uses prime-quality and fully traceable raw materials, ensuring utmost transparency.
“Pastificio dei Campi” is very rooted in traditions and still carries out manual processing techniques to produce authentic pasta which has nothing to do with the industrial products that you can find on the market.
