Indian peas - 440g ParcoVerde
Indian peas are very old, allegedly dating back to 8,000 BC. They are usually cultivated in Central and Southern Italy and are now recognised as an Italian traditional agro-food product (PAT). These legumes have amazing nutritional values and an extremely high protein content.
What do Indian peas taste like? They taste like lupini beans and broad beans. They are ideal for soups or purées as a side dish to fish, meat or vegetable dishes.
Parco Verde’s beans are cultivated with great care and passion according to tradition. This farm offers an excellent selection of traditional products from Basilicata and some of the best Italian legumes.
We recommend soaking these beans for at least 12 hours; ideally, they should be soaked overnight. After cooking, you can run them through a food mill and season them with oil, parsley and salt. Add some tasty crunchy bacon for a twist!
They taste excellent with:
• Tagliolini egg-pasta
• Crunchy bacon or pork jowl
