Among all the creations of De’ Magi cheese, a true refined cheese classic holds an important place: we are talking about the pecorino cheese with red hot chilli pepper, called “Piccantino”. The name “Piccantino” means ‘a little bit spicy’ and refers to the taste of the cheese as a red hot chilli pepper, a food with remarkable health benefits, is added into the cheese curd. By doing so, the spicy flavour of the pepper is surrounded by the sweetness of the pecorino cheese, without being too overwhelming.
The chilli pecorino cheese by De’ Magi undergoes a unique manufacture process and is only made with ewe’s milk coming from Italian farms and a controlled supply chain.
It has a slightly hot - not too overpowering, flavour and a well-balanced tang. The paste is firm to the bite and averagely soluble in the mouth. It is perfect on a cheese plate, as a cheese course or melted on potatoes and vegetables.
