Sweet Cavallucci are traditional biscuits from Tuscany. From Siena to Arezzo, they are must in our pantry, when Christmas comes around. Their story dates back to the 16th century at the time of Lorenzo the Magnificent, even though they were called “biriquocoli” back then.

The recipe is very simple and it hasn’t changed much over time: anise, nuts and candied fruits are mixed with sugar and flour.
