"VKA" Cheese with Vodka - 200g De' Magi
The "VKA" cheese by Andrea De' Magi is part of the selection of cheeses whose rind is treated with alcohol, and it is inspired by the French Epoisse cheese. "VKA" is treated with the Tuscan organic vodka bearing the same name and is made from mixed cow and sheep milk. The rind is washed with vodka by following several steps, and at the end of the whole process, the name of the cheese is printed in vegetable charcoal on the cheese surface, making this cheese a feast for the eyes, too.
"VKA" is an elegant and very pleasantly palatable cheese, which was born out of the curiosity and desire to experiment of Andrea De' Magi. He isn’t called "the cheese alchemist" for nothing; he likes to find new flavour combinations, to experiment and offer unique cheeses to his clients. This cheese has a scent reminiscent of cream and fresh butter, grass notes and a light alcohol hint and it can be enjoyed during the whole meal: it is perfect as a special starter, for a cheese tasting selection or even as a special ingredient for a very creamy risotto.
